How to change windows your password


Your Laptop has been pre-configured with a Windows password to secure access to your data. The password is "password". It is strongly advised that you change to your password to your own unique one, by following these easy steps:


Step 1
Click on the ‘start’ button, located at the bottom left of your screen

A start menu will open, you now select ‘control panel’

When control panel screen opens, select the ‘User Accounts’ icon as shown below:

Click on the ‘change your password’ link

3 boxes will appear. In the first box you are asked to type your current Windows password. (by default:”password”) In the next 2 boxes, enter the new password and then re-enter it a second time in the last box for confirmation. Underneath this, you are asked to type a password hint, to help you remember your password should you forget it. This is optional but highly recommended.

Step 6
You can now close the User Account window and continue work on your laptop. Remember to use the new password next time you log onto your computer!
